The Angeles City Government, through its City Health Office – Dental Division, continues to strengthen its commitment to promoting dental health among its constituents. Recently, a dental care awareness session for parents and fluoride application for children was conducted at Rural Health Unit III (RHU III).
The initiative aimed to educate parents about the importance of early oral hygiene for their children. According to dental professionals who facilitated the session, instilling proper dental care habits at a young age plays a vital role in ensuring long-term oral health and preventing serious dental problems in the future.
A key highlight of the program was the free fluoride application for children. Fluoride is a proven tool in protecting teeth from decay, making it an essential step in preventive dental care. These efforts are part of a broader campaign by the city government to reduce the prevalence of dental caries and improve access to dental services.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. emphasized that the health and well-being of every Angeleño, especially children, remains a top priority of his administration. “Healthy teeth are an important part of overall health. We are committed to bringing these services closer to every community,” he stated.
Parents expressed their appreciation for the program, noting that it provides both valuable knowledge and essential dental services—especially for families who cannot afford regular dental visits. One parent shared, “This is a big help. We learned a lot, and our children received free treatment too.”
The City Health Office announced that similar activities will be rolled out in other barangays to reach more families. The Dental Division also plans to conduct follow-up dental checkups to ensure continued oral health among the children served.
Through this program, the Angeles City LGU demonstrates its dedication to improving the quality of life of its residents—starting with something as essential yet often overlooked as dental health. After all, healthy teeth mean a healthier, happier Angeleño.
