On behalf of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel spearheaded a key meeting with the transition team of Mayor-Elect Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, led by Chief of Staff Janie Sarmiento. The meeting aimed to ensure a seamless handover of city government operations ahead of the new administration’s assumption of office.
The session, held at Angeles City Hall, focused on discussing current governance processes, ongoing projects, and financial matters. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuity and transparency in public service, signaling a cooperative approach to governance under the incoming mayor.
Reina Manuel, speaking for the outgoing administration, reaffirmed their commitment to providing all necessary support for a smooth transition. “We are working closely with Mayor-Elect Jon Lazatin’s team to ensure that no service is disrupted and that the city’s programs continue to run efficiently,” she said.
Joining Manuel were key department heads including City Accountant Lilibeth Enriquez, City Treasurer Arneil Escolango, and City Budget Officer Jane Nacpil. Each of them presented reports on their respective offices, outlining current statuses and recommendations for the incoming leadership.
General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo and City Engineer’s Office Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro were also present, along with City Human Resources and Management Officer Rowena Yambao. They discussed infrastructure priorities and personnel matters, contributing to the comprehensive nature of the briefing.
Malvin Santos, representing the City Planning and Development Office, shared updates on long-term projects and strategic development plans. He underscored the importance of continuity in planning to sustain the progress achieved during Mayor Pogi Lazatin’s term.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding between both teams to maintain open lines of communication. As Mayor-Elect Jon Lazatin prepares to take office, the cooperation demonstrated by both sides sets a tone of unity and dedication to the people of Angeles City.
