Angeles City — In a touching show of unity and compassion, the City Government of Angeles continues to promote the welfare of its senior citizens through the program “Luguran Ta La Ring Mangatua” (Let’s Support Our Elders), reaffirming its commitment to inclusive and caring governance.
The initiative, spearheaded by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, aims to uplift the lives of elderly Angeleños by providing consistent support services, medical assistance, and social programs tailored to their needs. The campaign not only delivers aid but also sends a message of respect and gratitude to the older generation.
During recent barangay visits, the city’s team personally reached out to hundreds of senior citizens, distributing care packages, vitamins, and mobility aids. These visits are part of the LGU’s effort to ensure that no elderly resident is left behind, especially those in underserved communities.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that Luguran Ta La Ring Mangatua is more than just a program—it is a promise. “Our seniors have given so much to society. It is our responsibility to give back and make sure they are cared for with dignity,” he stated.
Aside from medical and material support, the program also fosters emotional well-being through community engagement activities. Senior citizens are invited to participate in social gatherings, health seminars, and wellness checks—promoting not just physical health but a sense of belonging and purpose.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), in partnership with health units and barangay officials, ensures that these services are sustained and accessible. Their joint efforts have become a model of localized and compassionate governance across Pampanga.
As the Luguran Ta La Ring Mangatua campaign gains momentum, Angeles City sets a precedent in honoring its elders—not just with words, but with real action and enduring care. This initiative continues to serve as a beacon of hope and love for senior citizens throughout the city.
