ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on June 17, 2025, officially began distributing free school supplies and uniforms to public school students in Angeles City, starting with learners from the Angeles City Senior High School.
Each student received a complete set of items, including shoes, socks, t-shirts, bags, and essential school supplies. The initiative is part of Mayor Lazatin’s education-focused agenda, ensuring that students are equipped with the tools they need for the upcoming school year.
The distribution will continue in all 55 public schools across the city, with over 93,000 students expected to benefit. Mayor Lazatin is personally visiting each school to hand over the items, emphasizing his administration’s hands-on approach to public service.
Helping facilitate the program are Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, along with the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office led by Irish Bonus-Llego. The City Nutrition Office also took part in assisting with the smooth flow of the scheduled distributions.
Mayor Lazatin stated that his goal is to support every Angeleño child in their educational journey. “No Angeleño youth will be left behind in terms of education,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to accessible and quality education.
Parents and students expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting how it significantly eases the financial burden of school-related expenses. For many families, these school supplies mean students can return to school fully prepared and motivated.
This citywide distribution drive is one of the flagship programs of Lazatin’s administration, reflecting his long-term vision of education as a foundation for social progress. It also marks a meaningful gesture of support for young learners as his term in office comes to an end.
