ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Outgoing Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Angeles City as his term as mayor comes to an end, calling it the greatest privilege of his life to serve the city and its residents.
In an emotional message to Angeleños, Mayor Lazatin said, “It has been the highest honor to serve this city and its people. Maraming-maraming salamat po sa napakalaking karangalan na kayo ay mapagsilbihan bilang inyong alkalde.”
The mayor also gave his parting words in Kapampangan, saying “Luid kayu pu. Luid ya ing Syudad Angeles,” a sincere wish for the continued prosperity of the people and the city.
During his six-year term, Mayor Lazatin spearheaded numerous programs focused on healthcare, education, social welfare, and environmental sustainability — initiatives that have significantly impacted the lives of his constituents.
He acknowledged the support of city officials, government employees, community leaders, and every Angeleño who played a role in building a stronger, more inclusive Angeles City. Lazatin emphasized that the city’s progress was a shared achievement made possible through unity and cooperation.
As he prepares to pass the leadership baton to Mayor-Elect Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, he encouraged the public to extend the same trust and support to the incoming administration for continued growth and progress.
Mayor Lazatin’s farewell stands not just as a message of gratitude, but also as a symbol of humble and dedicated service — a legacy he hopes will inspire others in public office to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
