Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the First Regular Session of the Local Development Council (LDC) for 2025 on June 11, held at the Century Hotel. The session brought together city officials, barangay leaders, and civil society representatives to align priorities and set the direction for the city’s development agenda.
Mayor Lazatin, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of inclusive planning and participatory governance. He encouraged all sectors to actively contribute ideas and proposals that will support Angeles City’s growth and improve the lives of its citizens.
Joining the mayor were Angeles City ABC President Danilo Nacu, DILG-Angeles Director Yvette Cosio, and City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Nilda Quito. They played key roles in facilitating discussions on development priorities and reviewing the city’s plans and programs.
Also in attendance were department heads and officers-in-charge of various city offices. Their presence ensured that every sector of city governance was represented and that the council could discuss updates and challenges with accurate, on-the-ground insights.
The participation of all 33 barangay captains highlighted the grassroots approach the city government continues to champion. Their input reflected the needs and concerns of communities, ensuring that local perspectives are considered in city-wide planning and budgeting.
Civil society organizations also took part in the session, contributing their views on social, economic, and environmental concerns. Their involvement underscored the city’s commitment to collaborative governance and to creating more responsive, community-driven programs.
The session concluded with the identification of priority projects and programs for 2025. Mayor Lazatin thanked the council members for their active participation and reiterated his administration’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and sustained development in Angeles City.
