ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. met with key officials on May 19, 2025, to finalize preparations for the upcoming City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) Second Quarter Meeting. The meeting aims to strengthen coordination among stakeholders to maintain peace, security, and public safety across Angeles City.
The mayor was joined by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Angeles City Director Yvette Cosio to discuss the scheduling and agenda of the CPOC meeting. They reviewed the city’s current peace and order status and outlined key areas that will be tackled in the next council session.
Also present during the meeting were Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ACADAC) Head Ricky Saul, and Vincent Catacutan from DILG, who all reaffirmed their agencies’ full support and readiness for the upcoming deliberations.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of the CPOC as a platform for assessing local crime statistics, drug prevention efforts, and overall community safety strategies. He noted that regular coordination with law enforcement and concerned agencies is crucial in sustaining peace and public order.
The Second Quarter Meeting will highlight updates on the city’s anti-illegal drugs campaign, barangay-level peacekeeping efforts, and emergency response protocols. The mayor also stressed the importance of community involvement and inter-agency collaboration in achieving long-term peace and stability.
Under Mayor Lazatin’s administration, Angeles City has consistently prioritized public safety through proactive programs, including the expansion of surveillance infrastructure, increased police visibility, and strengthened community-based interventions.
The upcoming CPOC meeting is part of the city government’s continuing commitment to responsive and inclusive governance. Mayor Lazatin assured that the council will continue to take decisive action to ensure that Angeles City remains a safe and secure place for all Angeleños.
