ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — On June 19, 2025, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. began distributing free shoes, socks, t-shirts, bags, and school supplies to students at Cuayan Elementary School as part of the city’s ongoing education support program.
This distribution is the latest in a citywide initiative that will cover all 55 public schools in Angeles City, benefiting around 93,000 students. Mayor Lazatin is personally overseeing the delivery to ensure every student receives the essential items needed for a successful school year.
The program aims to ease the financial burden on families and equip learners with the necessary tools for their education. “No Angeleño youth will be left behind in terms of education,” Mayor Lazatin affirmed, underscoring his administration’s dedication to accessible quality education.
Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel supervised the event, alongside the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office led by Irish Bonus-Llego. Members of the City Nutrition Office also assisted to facilitate smooth distribution.
Students and parents expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting how the support will help ensure students attend school prepared and confident. The program is part of Mayor Lazatin’s broader commitment to uplift educational opportunities in the city.
This effort follows earlier distributions at other public schools and child development centers, as part of the Balik Eskwela 2025 campaign designed to jumpstart the academic year with necessary resources.
Mayor Lazatin’s hands-on approach in personally delivering supplies reflects his pledge to prioritize education and leave no student behind, reinforcing Angeles City’s goal of fostering a well-equipped, motivated, and supported student population.
