The Angeles City Government has expressed its deepest gratitude to the individuals and organizations behind the “Ripple of Hope” initiative, a community-powered effort that extended much-needed support to families affected by Typhoon Uwan. Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II conveyed the city’s appreciation to Chef Felix Asuncion, along with Mr. Pruds Garcia, Mr. Rene Romero, and Mr. Macky Nicdao, for spearheading the compassionate movement.
Inspired by the belief that a single act of kindness can inspire countless others, the Ripple of Hope initiative mobilized community members to offer assistance to evacuees during the challenging weather situation. Their leadership helped rally volunteers and donors, underscoring the collective strength of Kapampangan Bayanihan.
With the valuable support of the production team of Mekeni Food Corporation, food packs were prepared and distributed to affected families. The team’s active involvement ensured that aid reached communities swiftly and efficiently, demonstrating the power of collaboration between the private sector and civic-minded individuals.
On this day, the delivery of food packs continued at the evacuation center located in Rafael L. Lazatin Memorial High School in Balibago. Families temporarily staying there due to Typhoon Uwan received warm meals and essential supplies to help them cope with the ongoing situation.
The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) assisted throughout the distribution process, helping ensure that operations were organized and that the assistance reached evacuees in a timely manner. Their support contributed to maintaining order and safety during relief efforts.
City officials emphasized that acts of generosity such as this provide emotional comfort and practical support to affected residents. Beyond nourishment, these efforts uplift spirits and offer reassurance that the community stands together, especially in difficult times.
The Angeles City LGU extended its heartfelt thanks to all individuals and groups involved, noting that the kindness shown reflects the true heart of Kapampangan unity. Through shared compassion and collective action, the city continues to show that hope can spread—one ripple at a time.
