ANGELES CITY — In response to the recent severe weather that affected multiple communities, the OKCares Foundation, in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), launched a well-coordinated relief operation to support families in need. The initiative was aimed at addressing the urgent food and basic supply requirements of residents in several barangays across the city.
The relief program provided food packs valued at ₱500 each, containing essential items meant to meet short-term nutritional needs. The distribution focused on 13 barangays, including Balibago, Agapito del Rosario, Salapungan, Sapangbato, Amsic, Pulungbulu, Anunas, Cuayan, Pampang, Malabanias, Ninoy Aquino, Pandan, and Capaya. This targeted approach ensured that resources were directed toward the most affected areas.
Coordination with barangay officials played a vital role in the smooth rollout of the operation. With their on-the-ground knowledge, local leaders were able to help identify the families in greatest need, facilitating an efficient and fair distribution process. Their involvement also helped strengthen community trust in the relief effort.
The Angeles City LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Jon Lazatin, provided critical support in terms of resource mobilization and logistics. The local government’s proactive governance and established partnerships enabled quick action, demonstrating a strong commitment to community welfare.
In total, 1,200 families received food packs and other essentials through this initiative. The aid not only provided immediate relief but also served to ease the burden on families still recovering from the storm’s impact. The timely delivery of assistance helped restore a sense of normalcy to affected communities.
