ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — As the local election season intensifies, Team Lazatin, led by mayoral aspirant Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin Jr., is targeting a dominant 13-0 sweep in the upcoming polls. Backed by strong public support, the team is campaigning to secure all 10 city council seats, along with the key positions of mayor, vice mayor, and congressional representative.
Jon Lazatin is seeking the mayoralty post, running alongside incumbent Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and current Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin II, who is unopposed in his bid to represent the city’s first congressional district. Together, they make up the core of Team Lazatin, which is pushing for continuity in leadership and public service delivery.
The campaign is centered around the message of “serbisyong may malasakit” — a legacy of compassionate governance that the Lazatin administration has championed. To connect with constituents, the team has launched barangay caravans, town hall forums, and meetings with various community groups, emphasizing inclusive and responsive leadership.
In recent rallies, Mayor Pogi Lazatin urged supporters to vote straight for their lineup. “Ang laban na ito ay laban para sa tuloy-tuloy na progreso ng Angeles City,” he said. “Isang diretsong 13-0 ang kailangan natin para walang patid ang serbisyo at proyekto para sa lahat.”
Among the team’s top priorities are continued investment in social programs, such as free healthcare and education, expanding housing projects for low-income families, and upgrading roads and infrastructure across barangays. The platform also includes dedicated support for senior citizens, PWDs, and underserved communities.
With a strong track record in public service and high approval ratings, the team is optimistic about its chances. However, local observers are watching closely to see if the campaign’s momentum will hold and if a clean sweep is achievable in a competitive political environment.
As election day nears, all eyes are on Angeles City to see if Team Lazatin will make history with a 13-0 victory, further solidifying the Lazatin political dynasty’s influence in local governance.
